From Warrnambool to Warracknabeal, and everywhere in between, Provincial Victoria is a great place to live.
The locals know - which is why they live there! But many Melburnians have been unaware of the fabulous benefits of living in rural and regional Victoria:
• No traffic jams;
• Fresh air;
• Friendly communities;
• A great place to raise kids
...to name just a few.
Which is why in 2003, the Victorian Government launched the Make it Happen in Provincial Victoria campaign, in partnership with the State's 48 rural and regional councils, to raise awareness of the great opportunities to live, work and invest in Provincial Victoria.

Hepburn Shire is located in central Victoria, just over an hour from Melbourne. The city of Ballarat joins the Shire to the west and Bendigo is nearby to the north. The Shire's population is approximately 15,000 (June 2006) and has a healthy growth rate of 0.5% per annum. The population is projected to reach 17,000 by 2021.
The Melbourne Italian Festival is held between May and June every year. The Festival programme comprises activities from Italy and Victoria of a high standard of artistic performance, which includes local and overseas artists. A community weekend is always scheduled closest to 2nd June and is a major part of the artistic program.

The Courier is Ballarat and district's leading provider of news and information. We have been keeping our readers informed and entertained since our first edition on June 10, 1867.
The editor of that first edition, Robert Clark, promised to "speak out boldly" on issues which impact on Ballarat. We continue to do that today and are as committed as ever to being a strong advocate for this region.
Our mission statement is "to build our community through a quality newspaper which is responsible and accountable".
Our readers are our most valuable asset. What they say matters to us.

The team at Around and About Spa Country aim to produce a high quality publication which is designed to inform and entertain existing and potential visitors to Victoria's mineral spa region.
The many attractions, diverse range of boutique accommodation, wineries and dining experiences to suit all tastes are just a few reasons why many thousands of travellers return time and again to experience the joys this area has to offer.
